Annual Reports

Dear Mayor Hawkins, City Council Members, City Manager Tanghe, Auburn Hills Residents, Community Leaders, Business Representatives, and Visitors:

It is my pleasure to present the 2025 Auburn Hills Police Department Annual Report. This report reflects our continued commitment to transparency, accountability, and professional policing in service to our community.

In 2025, our department handled 27,188 calls for service, representing a 4.3% increase over the previous year. Despite this increased demand, we achieved strong public safety outcomes. Our overall crime clearance rate was 73.28%, significantly exceeding national averages of 45.5% for violent crime and 17.2% for property crimes. Additionally, we experienced a 12% decrease in more serious criminal offenses and a 28.5% decrease in misdemeanor offenses. These results are a direct reflection of proactive policing, thorough investigations, and exceptional teamwork across the department.

We continued to prioritize neighborhood safety through increased traffic enforcement, with a specific focus on residential streets and identified problem locations. These efforts were aimed at improving quality of life and addressing community concerns related to speeding and unsafe driving behaviors.

Our personnel remain the foundation of our success. I am extremely proud of our Field Training Officers, who dedicated countless hours to mentoring and preparing new officers for solo patrol. Their professionalism and commitment ensure our standards remain high.

In 2025, we also welcomed back our Community Engagement Officer, who delivered numerous crime prevention and safety presentations and played a key role in organizing and supporting special events throughout the year. Additionally, we assigned an officer to the newly formed Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force, strengthening our ability to address this critical issue within our community.

I am grateful for the dedication of our sworn and civilian staff and for the continued support of our elected officials, city administration, and residents. Together, we remain committed to providing professional, ethical, and effective police services.

I hope you find this report informative and reflective of the hard work performed by our department. We look forward to continuing to serve Auburn Hills in 2026 and beyond.

Respectfully,

Ryan Gagnon
