Vegetation Trimming To Occur Along Clinton River Trail
Posted on: May 7, 2015

The City of Auburn Hills has received notice from the International Transmission Company (ITC) about line clearance work that will take place today (May 7th) and tomorrow (May 8th) along the Clinton River Trail corridor within the City in order to prevent potential contact between vegetation and the high voltage transmission lines.
It is ITC’s duty to make sure vegetation does not interfere with the transmission lines or disrupt power, similar to this example along the Macomb Orchard Trail.
ITC are the owner/operators of the high voltage power lines that parallel the 2.1 mile portion of the trail that traverses the southern portion of our community. During routine inspections, ITC crews identified several areas in need of maintenance between Opdyke and Adams Roads, which is where the work will take place. ITC will use a combination of control methods including mechanical trimming and removal equipment, as well as, herbicide treatments in limited areas. Any resident impacted by the work should receive a door hanger from ITC before work begins.
Additional questions can be directed to the ITC customer hotline 1-877-482-4829.
