Memorial Day Parade Spotlight
Posted on: May 23, 2025
Have you ever attended the American Legion’s Memorial Day Parade and caught a piece of candy from the big snowplow? That snowplow is driven by Greg Landry, a Department of Public Works employee and Auburn Hills resident who has been volunteering in the Memorial Day Parade for 15 years.
The parade route starts at Avondale High School and ends at the American Legion on Churchill Road, where the community gathers for hot dogs. If you’re watching near the intersection of Auburn Road and Parkways Blvd, keep an eye out! That’s where Greg stops every year to give his mom a hug. She’s always there cheering him on.

So if you’re attending the parade this year and you see the big snowplow stop at the corner, help us give Greg and his mother a big cheer!
