More jobs … More investment …
An application has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills by FEV North America Inc. to rezone a 6.78 acre parcel located between I-75 and Harmon Road, east of Joslyn Road from I-1, Light Industrial District to T&R, Technology and Research District. The review is the first step in the development approval process to allow this dynamic company to construct a new $27.4 million North American headquarters and tech center in Auburn Hills.
Location of the proposed FEV facility
FEV, the North American subsidiary of Germany-based FEV Group, is an engineering services firm specializing in the design, prototyping and development of gasoline, diesel and alternative engines.
The project will allow FEV to double its presence in Michigan and create 246 jobs. The growing company reports that it has reached employment and space capacity at its other operations in Auburn Hills and South Carolina.
Rendering of the proposed 105,552 sq. ft. facility
Those interested in learning more about this proposal are encouraged to attend the public hearing at the Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Wednesday, August 10th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall. A final decision on the rezoning application is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, August 22nd.
