Auburn Hills Police Rescue Mr. Hill

For the past two days, I have been closely watching as our Police Department searched for a 76-year-old Pontiac man who was last seen leaving an Auburn Hills hotel in the area of Featherstone and Opdyke Roads around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.  Imagine being the family of Mr. Hill, knowing that he was without his medication and nowhere to be found.  Our police department continued to work tirelessly to find Mr. Hill, hoping that he did not wander too far from the area where he was last seen.  Fortunately we have had a bit of a warm-up here in southeast Michigan or the outcome could have been far more tragic.  I was receiving updates as was the media and our police department was not about to stop searching for Mr. Hill until they found him.  Last night, around 9:00 p.m., our Officers found him in some brush in a business district within our community.  The good news . . . he is alive and well.  Mr. Hill was transferred to the hospital and all indications are that he will be okay.  

I want to commend the work of our police department for their diligence in finding Mr. Hill and ultimately, saving his life.  This is a great example of the work we do as a local government in-service to the community.  Not all stories end with this outcome.  We’re just glad that this one did.
