Do you know?
In 2012, residents who are part of the City’s Single Waste Hauler Program generated a total of 4,625 tons of waste. Of that total, 533 tons (11.5%) was recycled and 573 tons (12.4%) was composted. Thus, 1,106 tons (23.9%) of waste was diverted from a landfill and recycled in one way or another. Wow!

Auburn Hills’ residents should be commended. On average, each resident recycled five pounds of material per week which surpasses our contractor Waste Management’s customer per week national recycling average by over one pound! That’s an accomplishment we should be proud of.
