Yesterday, the City of Auburn Hills participated in "Take Your Kid to Work Day," offering young visitors a behind-the-scenes look at city operations. Employees brought their children to various departments for a day full of exploration and hands-on learning.
The day kicked off at the Public Safety Building, where kids toured the Police Department, checked out the jail, and explored the police car garage. At the fire station, they learned about fire equipment and had fun testing their aim with a fire hose by knocking down cones.
Next, the group visited the Department of Public Works on Brown Road, where they got an up-close look at plow trucks and other vehicles. The final stop was the Community Center, where kids enjoyed a fun session of pickleball and free gym time.
This day provided a unique opportunity for children to see the diverse careers and services available at the municipal level. It was an educational experience that inspired curiosity and showcased the important work being done right here in Auburn Hills.
