STRATTEC Security Corporation Celebrates Safe City Certification in Auburn Hills

Posted on: November 7, 2024

On Wednesday, November 6, STRATTEC Security Corporation, located at 2998 Dutton Road, proudly celebrated their Safe City certification. This recognition demonstrates STRATTEC’s strong commitment to public safety by completing the City of Auburn Hills' Safe City program.

The Safe City initiative is a comprehensive partnership between the public safety sector and local businesses, schools, and churches to ensure that the community is well prepared to respond to emergencies. The four-step program provides vital training for staff to handle large-scale emergencies and equips the Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments with the information necessary for tailored emergency response at participating locations.

To become Safe City certified, businesses must complete four steps:

  • Step One: First Aid/CPR/AED Training
  • Step Two: Active Shooter/Workplace Violence Training
  • Step Three: Stop the Bleed Protocol
  • Step Four: Security Assessments and Emergency Response Maps for AHPD/AHFD

A few of the measures STRATTEC implemented to enhance their emergency preparedness included the installation of public address systems in closed areas like restrooms, creating “go bags” for emergency personnel, and making axes available to facilitate emergency exits. They also updated their phone tree system to improve communication in a post-COVID work environment.

As one of the world’s largest producers of automotive locks and security solutions, STRATTEC is an important member of the Auburn Hills business community. Their dedication to safety, not only for their employees but also for the broader community, sets an example for other local businesses.

We congratulate STRATTEC for being one of the first businesses in Auburn Hills to complete the Safe City program and for their ongoing commitment to creating a safer environment.
