Shop with a Hero Delivers Holiday Joy

Posted on: December 11, 2025

On December 9, the Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments and the Bloomfield Township Police Department teamed up with 23 local families connected through Avondale Youth Assistance and Pontiac Youth Assistance. Officers and volunteers worked one-on-one with the children, helping them select thoughtful Christmas gifts for their family members.

Each participant received a $250 Meijer gift card to shop for their loved ones. This impactful event was made possible through the generous support of Meijer and Atlas Copco.

Avondale Youth Assistance and Pontiac Youth Assistance are two organizations dedicated to strengthening youth and families in the community.

  • Avondale Youth Assistance offers financial assistance and/or counseling to qualified families, to aid in the strengthening of youth and families by preventing or reducing delinquency, neglect, and abuse. You can reach them at (248) 852-3716.
  • Pontiac Youth Assistance shares a similar mission, to strengthen youth and families and to reduce the incidence of delinquency, abuse, and neglect through community involvement. For assistance, families can contact them at (248) 451-7549.

Thank you to everyone who made this special day possible!
