Pint Size Picasso Program Fosters Youth Creativity
Posted on: February 20, 2025
Our Winter Pint Size Picasso program just wrapped with another spectacular art show finale! Pint Size Picasso’s is a five-week program that allows children ages 5 to 9 to learn about famous artists and then create a piece of art inspired by that artist. The goal of the first four sessions is to get kids exposed to different artists, different art mediums and build their budding creative confidence. This season we explored the works of Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Akira Yoshizawa, Yayoi Kusama, Salvador Dali, Hilma af Klint, Vincent Van Gough and Alma Woodsy Thomas.

The fifth week of the program featured an Art Show, where families and friends were invited to come celebrate the children's art. The art show provides a special opportunity for kids to take pride in their creations and share them with parents, siblings, and fellow artists. Each child received a certificate of completion and took home all the artwork they created during the program.

We were lucky to have members of City Council and the Mayor attend, showing support of our budding artists! Thank you to our city officials for supporting this program that provides a fun and creative space for our youth. Even though this program has concluded for the winter, we welcome everyone to join us for our next session in the fall! We will be covering new artists and look forward to welcoming in new Pint Size Picasso’s to the program.
