Pawsitive Vibes: Therapy Dogs Bring Joy to Community Center

Posted on: August 1, 2024

On Thursday, July 28th, the community center had some extraordinary furry guests! For the second year, the Mid-Michigan Therapy Dog (MMTD) organization visited to provide their unique services to everyone at the Community Center. The visit included five teams of dogs and their owners. They let the Summer Camp kids and seniors love on them. The kids loved to lie down with the dogs, ask questions, and trade the dog’s playing cards. That’s right! Each dog had a trading card with their name, some of their favorite things, and their story. By the end of the visit, everyone left with five trading cards and smiling faces!

MMTD is a volunteer-based group whose mission is to share the unconditional love of fur therapy. These furry volunteers visit hospitals, schools, assisted living centers, colleges, and more. MMTD is always looking for new members and holds training twice a year. If you want to learn more about Mid-Michigan Therapy Dogs, visit midmichigantherapydogs.com

Thanks fur everything Ember, Finn, Gibbs, Simon, and Tuppence!
