We are pleased to report that a development application to build a new North American headquarters and manufacturing facility for RECARO Child Safety, LLC has been submitted to the City of Auburn Hills. The German-based company designs, assembles and sells premium, high quality child safety seats for vehicles. The investment is estimated at $8 million.

The new 90,000 square foot facility, proposed to be constructed at 1681 Harmon Road, will allow RECARO Child Safety to grow its manufacturing capacity and product offering. The company is currently located across the street from the new site at 1600 Harmon Road.

The public hearing for this proposal is scheduled to be held by the Planning Commission on Tuesday, July 21st at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. A final decision on the project is anticipated to be made by the City Council on Monday, July 27th.
If approved, land balancing will begin in early August. Weather permitting, the facility is scheduled to be up and running by August 2016.
