I Got It at Theory & Thread

My colleague down the hall always dresses well, but lately she’s been coming into the office showing off new fits (is that what Gen Z calls new clothes?). I’ve told her I love her soft pink Sorel ankle boots. “I got them from Theory & Thread!” she said.

I’ve told her I love her new sweater. Her new dress. Again and again, the answer is the same. “I got it from Theory & Thread!”

My colleague isn’t the only one excited about having a new place to shop in Downtown Auburn Hills. Recently, we celebrated a ribbon-cutting for Theory & Thread, a resale and consignment boutique specializing in upscale clothing items. Thayer, the owner, personally curates every piece, and when you meet her, it’s clear she’s in her element.

Inside the shop, you’ll find Coach bags, Louis Vuitton shoes, and unique clothing pieces you didn’t know you needed (like a chunky sweater covered in lemons that brings a little sunshine to these cold days). Items stay on the shop floor for 90 days. If clothing doesn't sell, it is donated to Neighborhood House, and items with original tags are donated to HAVEN.

Sustainable, thoughtful, community-focused, and fun. We’re excited to see a resale shop with this much heart bring much-needed retail to our growing downtown, and we wish them continued success.
