Fire Truck Pull Brings in Donations for Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Pantry
Posted on: September 28, 2023

Oakland University hosted a Fire Truck Pull on Wednesday, September 27 to raise awareness of the Oakland University Golden Grizzlies Pantry. The Golden Grizzlies Pantry provides food assistance to students through the Student Emergency Relief Fund and strives to relive food insecurities so that students can focus on success. Each participant was asked to bring a donation for in-demand items that are in greatest need at the pantry to benefit Oakland University Students.
The event featured teams of five competing to win the fastest pull of 75 feet. The Auburn Hills Fire Department provided the Fire Truck with Assistant Fire Chief Trevin Robinson and Fire Inspector Jon Toss on site to help facilitate. Teams had to work together and strategize on grip and positioning to successfully budge the 60,000-pound vehicle. That is the same amount of weight as an adult Humpback Whale!

Well done to everyone who participated at this campus community event!
