Election Tidbits

Posted on: October 17, 2024

With the election just around the corner, the City Clerk’s Office is here to ensure all your election-related questions are answered.

What are my voting options?

You have three ways to vote in the upcoming election:

Absentee Ballot (Mail-in Ballot) (available now)

You can vote from the comfort of your home or at the Clerk’s Office by requesting an absentee ballot. Once completed, submit it by mail, in person, or via a drop box. Absentee ballots must be returned by 8:00 PM on Election Night.

Drop box locations include:  Inside City Hall, In Parking Lot 2 at City Hall, attached to the outside of the City Hall building, in the DPW Parking Lot.

If you prefer to personally feed your absentee ballot into the tabulator, you may do so by returning it to your precinct or the early voting site, but remember you’ll need to check in with election inspectors and stand in line. You can only tabulate your own ballot.

Absentee ballots are available now until 4:00 PM on Monday, Nov 4th. This day is usually very busy, so if you opt for absentee voting, consider picking up your ballot ahead of time.

Early In-Person Voting (Oct 26 – Nov 3)

Early voting is similar to Election Day voting at your precinct, where you’ll receive a ballot and insert it into the tabulator yourself. Early voting provides flexibility in choosing a convenient date and time, and it’s likely there won’t be any lines.
