C is for Camp at the Community Center
Posted on: August 25, 2025
This summer, the Auburn Hills Summer Day Camp welcomed campers ages 6-13, new and old, for six weeks of fun! Thank you to all the campers and their parents for having a blast with us all summer long. In case you missed it, here is a small snapshot of what we got up to this summer.
Each week featured a new and fun theme, as well as in-house community partner programs and onsite field trips. Campers visited the Police and Fire Departments, met local wildlife from Howell Nature Center, went on a birding hike with Oakland Bird Alliance, participated in themed activities at the Auburn Hills Library, and so much more! We played a lot of Gaga Ball, made 100+ friendship bracelets, played group games, and had the best “Water Wednesdays”! We concluded each week with our campfire and s’mores ceremony, where our summer camp counselors presented individual Paper Plate Awards to each camper.

Our community partners and volunteers provided wonderful programming for our campers! A large thank you to our community sponsor, Oakland County Parks, who supported our Summer Camp program with four programs this summer.
This summer would not have been possible without the hard work of our teen Junior Counselor volunteers and summer camp staff. Our Junior Counselors, who volunteered a total of 300+ hours this summer, were marvelous role models and camp leaders all summer long. To our camp staff, thank you for providing a summer full of laughs, friendship and memories.
Summer Camp 2025 may be over, but the memories of this summer will last a lifetime for everyone who participated, volunteered and worked. Thank you for the best summer ever and I cannot wait to see everyone again in 2026!
