I just followed him …

Pastor Corey James

Pastor Corey James called me over to the center of this barren shell of a building and said “Mr. Cohen come over here, this is where the congregation will sit.  I can fit about 90 people here.”  He was like a proud Papa.  Pastor James has big plans for his church.

We are pleased to report that the Community Impact Church recently purchased the former POH Medical building at 2240 N. Opdyke Road.  The non-denominational Christian congregation plans to convert the 3,000 sq. ft. building into their own permanent facility.

The building has more than ample space to accommodate their small, but growing membership.  They plan to totally renovate the interior, with few changes to the exterior of the building at this time.  Upon City approval, the congregation plans to move from their current meeting location in Downtown Auburn Hills sometime this Summer.

They truly want to make an impact in our community.  The congregation has participated in a variety of City of Auburn Hills events such as the Halloween Trail, Easter Egg Hunt, and Summerfest.  I fondly remember meeting a friendly member of the church at Summerfest last year.  She lovingly helped my son make a craft.  It made a positive impression on my wife and me.

The Community Impact Church is a proud sponsor of the City of Auburn Hills Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Last week, they distributed 600 goodie bags to children that attended the annual event.
The goodie bags were filled with chips, bottled water, assorted candy, stickers, and other goodies.

These folks really care about our community.  They have invested their lives here in many ways.  It is the church’s mission to make a difference with the people of Auburn Hills.

The Planning Commission is scheduled to review their Special Land Use application to allow the building to be used as a church on Tuesday, April 24th at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers.  The review is conducted to make sure the land use fits in well with the location.

Pastor James has big plans and we look forward to helping him achieve them.
