Summer Municipal Campus Improvements

Posted on: June 24, 2026

This summer, the City of Auburn Hills will be making improvements to the municipal campus.

Phase 1 – New Fuel Island: The City is adding a new fuel island to the municipal campus at the end of Seyburn Drive, adjacent to the Community Center, to support city vehicles. Crews will prepare the site through grading, utility installation, paving, and landscaping.

Phase 2 – Library Parking Lot: This phase includes rehabilitation of the Auburn Hills Public Library parking lot and is scheduled to begin the week of June 29.

Phase 3 – Community Center Parking Lot: This phase includes rehabilitation of the Community Center parking lot. Work will be completed in two stages to ensure continuous access throughout construction.

Phase 4 – Seyburn Drive: This phase includes reconstruction of a portion of Seyburn Drive, along with installation of a new water main.

The City’s priority is to ensure the safety of all residents while minimizing disruptions to the Community Center, Public Library, and scheduled events. No construction activities that would interfere with voting during the August 4 and November 3 elections will take place.

The Community Center, including its summer camp programs, will remain open throughout construction. Signage will be posted throughout the project area to help residents locate available parking during each phase of construction.

Work is anticipated to begin on the Fuel Island phase of the Civic Campus Improvements Project this week, with construction continuing through the fall. Additional details will be shared once the contractor provides a schedule for the remaining phases. We understand the inconveniences associated with this project and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly as possible. We appreciate the patience of our residents and staff throughout construction.
