New Play Structure at Manitoba Park

Posted on: June 1, 2026

Manitoba Park underwent a partial renovation in 2022 which included a new parking lot, swing set, sidewalk, Unity Canopy and a small picnic shelter. Although the main play structure was 21 years old, it was still in pretty good shape at the time, so it was not replaced. City staff conducts regular inspections of all playgrounds and has been keeping an eye on the main play structure as it continued to age. Unfortunately, last year we began to see signs of deterioration such as cracks, sharp edges and rust. We are pleased to announce that the main play structure, benches and spring riders have been replaced. Part of this project included additional underground work to improve the drainage of the site. Combined with the replacements that were done in 2022, this new work means that everything at Manitoba Park has now been replaced and the park is like new again.

The new playground equipment includes a composite play structure with a Ribbon Climber, Solar Climber, Nuvo Twist Climber, Nuvo Spiral Slide and two Glide Slides. Next to the play structure are two animal spring riders, one is a chipmunk and the other is a turtle. Two benches are located next to the play equipment for parents to monitor the action. The play equipment in this area is suitable for ages 5 to 12. The completely renovated Manitoba Park is located at 4220 Manitoba Road, has been reopened to the public, and is ready to be used.
