Celebration of Pint-Sized Picassos!

Posted on: November 19, 2025

Tuesday November 18th was a night of celebration for all those who attended the Pint Size Picasso Art Show! The much-anticipated Art Show for the Recreation Department’s Pint Size Picasso Program showcases the four weeks of art projects that the young artists, ages 5-8, completed throughout the program. In attendance were family and friends of our budding artists, as well as our honorable Mayor. Mr. Hawkins, Mayor Pro-Tem Mr. Marzolf, Councilmember Dr. Fletcher, Councilmember Mr. Ferguson, and Councilmember Mr. Moniz. A big thank you to all those who attended the art show, from the families and friends to our city leadership, as your support encourages the creativity and expression of the kids who took part in this program.

Throughout the four weeks of classes, our young artists learned about two famous artists each week and used new mediums to create their artwork. The team’s goal of this program is to expose our youth to a diverse selection of famous artists with different art styles to show them that there are many ways to create art and be a famous artist. This program encourages our young participants to lead with their creativity and really draw their own inspiration from the featured artists to create a piece that is uniquely theirs. Some of the notable artists featured were Kehinde Wiley, Mary Blair, Georgia O’Keeffe, Josh Gluckstein, and of course, Pablo Picasso.

If you have kids who are interested in participating in this fun-filled creative program, our next program will begin in January 2026. Each Pint Size Picasso program features new artists and new art projects, so we cannot wait to share our Winter selections with our future artists! To support our artists that have aged out of Pint Sized, we will be offering an aged-up program through our Mighty Michelangelos Program for ages 9-12, launching this February! Our team cannot wait for another great set of programs and thank everyone for their support of our Fall Pint Size Picasso Program.
