Keep Our Waters Clean in Auburn Hills

Posted on: September 26, 2023

On the sunny Saturday morning of September 16th, a group of twelve volunteers from the community and Martinrea International dedicated two hours of their time to clean up a one-half mile stretch of the Clinton River, River Woods Park, and the City’s Skate Park.  Their efforts resulted in removing 23 bags of trash, a skateboard, one metal fire pit ring, and the underbody shield of a car from the river, riverbank, and parkland.

The commitment made by these community-minded stewards of our watershed helps keep our river clean for all to enjoy and protects wildlife and wildlife habitat for this generation and future generations.  The City values this freshwater resource and enjoys seeing an increasing number of people who live and work in Auburn Hills utilize the river here in Auburn Hills for their fishing, kayaking, and viewing pleasure.

The City of Auburn Hills would like to thank all the volunteers who participated in this year’s clean-up efforts.
