We’re pleased to report that the builder of the Auburn Square Apartments has made significant progress toward completion in recent months. As of this date, the City of Auburn Hills has issued occupancy permits for part of the second floor and all of the third and fourth floors (54 out of the 97 total units).
According to property manager Josh Padnos, 27 units are currently occupied and about 25 to 30 additional units are anticipated to be leased by this April. Josh tells us that residents moving into the complex are mostly Oakland University and Cooley Law School students, with a mixture of folks working at nearby businesses.
The feedback Josh is getting is that the new residents love the apartment building and its walkable, urban location. They also really like the adjoining covered parking structure and being just minutes away from all the area universities and colleges and the Fiat Chrysler Automobiles N.V. North American Headquarters.
I’ve grown up in this area, so seeing college students living at Auburn and Squirrel Roads is quite the sight. It’s a far cry from the Village of Amy days and stories of the old grist mill.
Yes, progress is good.
