Firearm Registration
Information on obtaining a permit to purchase and register a firearm, visit the Public Safety Building.
Public Safety Building
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
You must be a resident of Auburn Hills and have a valid Michigan State Identification card or a Michigan Drivers License.
Permit is valid for ten days during which time the firearm must be purchased and returned to the Records Bureau for registration.
There is no cost for this service.
For a concealed pistol license, contact the Oakland County Clerk's Office.
Fingerprinting
Fingerprinting is by appointment only.
Fingerprinting Fees
We do not offer ink fingerprints. Be prepared to pay all fees at time of appointment.

The Auburn Hills Police Department provides vacation home checks as a courtesy to residents. To request a vacation home check, please complete the form linked below and return it to 1899 N. Squirrel Road
