Utility Billing
Each month, our utility billing clerk remotely reads approximately 6,500 meters to calculate water and sewer fees for properties. Bills are issued monthly, with payments due by the 15th of the following month.
Final Utility Bills
If you are moving, call 248-370-9340 to schedule a final meter read, which is usually done remotely. All water and sewer balances are considered liens against the property and should be paid in full prior to change of ownership.

How to Read your Water Meter
The City of Auburn Hills reads your water meter every month to determine your water use and water bill. We use an external reading device, called an MIU or "meter interface unit" to transmit the read from your meter to our equipment, without requiring us to enter your premise and read the face of the meter each month.
You can also use the meter to:
- Monitor your water use
- Watch for water leaks
