Press Release: Fatal Crash Investigation (Auburn Rd. near Rosetta Ct.)
On Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12:30 pm, personnel from the Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments were dispatched to a serious injury crash on Auburn Rd. east of Rosetta Ct.  It was reported that one person was ejected from a vehicle. 

The preliminary investigation reveals a 31-year-old man from Sterling Heights, who was driving a 2017 white Hyundai Santa Fe, was pulling out of the Sunoco gas station onto Auburn Rd.  He was struck by a 2011 gray Mitsubishi Endeavor, which was traveling eastbound on Auburn Rd., driven by a 55-year-old man from Auburn Hills.  The driver of Hyundai was ejected from the vehicle.  He was transported to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.  The driver of the Mitsubishi sustained minor injuries and was also transported to the hospital for treatment.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash.   

This crash is currently being investigated by the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT).  The team is comprised of crash investigators from Auburn Hills, Bloomfield Twp., Troy, Bloomfield Hills, Birmingham, and Clawson.
