Chip Hierlihy Selected as New General Manager for Fieldstone Golf Club of Auburn Hills

Chip HeadshotAuburn Hills, MI—February 13, 2020--The City of Auburn Hills, a dynamic community committed to innovation and growth announces that the Auburn Hills City Council appointed PGA Professional Chip Hierlihy, as the new Manager of Fieldstone Golf Club at their February 3 meeting.

"I am excited to be joining the City of Auburn Hills and leading the team at Fieldstone as we continue to work every day to grow and enhance the reputation of this already fine facility”, said Chip Hierlihy.

Located at 1984 Taylor Road, Fieldstone Golf Club is a premier golf facility and is consistently ranked in the top tier of public golf courses in Southeast Michigan. Fieldstone presents an exceptional variety of hole designs by the renowned architect, Arthur Hills. The designs mesh with the diverse landscape and wetlands with gently rolling fairways through majestic hardwoods.

“We look forward to Chip joining the Auburn Hills team. His experience and love of the game will be a tremendous asset to Fieldstone”, said Mayor Kevin McDaniel.

Chip Hierlihy is a 30-year member of the PGA of America and has most recently served as the General Manager at several prestigious private clubs including The Club at Pradera located in Parker, Colorado and Oak Pointe Country Club located in Brighton, Michigan.

Chip was born and raised in Bellaire, Michigan and graduated from Ferris State University with a degree in Marketing/Professional Golf Management. In addition to his private club experience, Chip has over 10 years of experience in public sector golf management to include four golf courses located in Prince William County, Virginia and most recently managed a golf course and banquet center for the City of Dearborn.

“Fieldstone Golf Club enjoys an excellent reputation as an outstanding public golf course. I’m counting on Chip to drive that reputation to the next level”, said Tom Tanghe, City Manager.
Chip lives in West Bloomfield with his wife Katie, youngest daughter Ava, and senior rescue dog Nikki. In addition to playing golf, Chip also runs marathons, skis, and enjoys spending time outside in the great state of Michigan.
