The City of Auburn Hills is pleased to announce an opportunity for citizens to meet our candidate for the role of Police Chief. Jeff Baker will be on hand in the Administration Conference Room of City Hall on Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. to meet members of the community. Members of City Council, the Public Safety Advisory Committee, and City Staff will also be on hand that evening.
Mr. Baker is the current Chief of Police of the City of Port Huron, Michigan. After a process which included a review of his resume/credentials, the completion of an internal assessment, and an interview conducted by a recruitment committee consisting of Mayor McDaniel, City Councilman Ron Moniz, Human Resource Generalist Bianca Karjo, Assistant City Manager Don Grice, and City Manager Tom Tanghe; the committee selected Chief Baker as their preferred candidate. Upon meeting his pre-employment requirements for Auburn Hills, he will be given a confirmed offer and is expected to begin his role with the City of Auburn Hills as our next Police Chief on or before June 1.
There is no need to RSVP for this event. Citizens are welcome to attend at any time during the Meet and Greet. Light refreshments will be served.
Citizens who wish to attend should enter City Hall through the main entrance located off Seyburn Drive. Parking Lots 2 & 3 are in closest proximity to the main entrance to City Hall.
