Auburn Hills, MI—October 9, 2017—The City of Auburn Hills, a dynamic community committed to innovation and growth, is excited to kick-off the fall season with its 20th Annual Fall Festival in the Woods event on Saturday, October 14, from 11am through 3pm at the E. Dale Fisk Hawk Woods Nature Center.According to Auburn Hills Recreation Director Brian Marzolf, ‘Fall Festival in the Woods’ is all about enjoying what our beautiful fall season in Michigan has to offer.
“This is such a great time of year for people to get out and enjoy all the best fall activities in one place. Last year, more than 1,000 people enjoyed this annual celebration and discovered Hawk Woods Nature Center’s beautiful setting and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation,” Marzolf says.
In addition to hands-on nature center activities and education stations, the ‘Fall Festival in the Woods’ will feature horse-drawn hay rides, live music by the Blue Water Ramblers, demonstrations and free cider and donuts. Pumpkin carving and painting will also be available. Pumpkins may be purchased on a first-come first-served basis.
“The Fall Festival in the Woods is one of my family’s favorite events for the fall. It’s a wonderful opportunity to visit Hawk Woods and enjoy our unique facility during the season if you have never been,” said Mayor Kevin McDaniel.
The E. Dale Fisk Hawk Woods Nature Center is located at 3799 Bald Mountain Road and offers year-round opportunities for outdoor recreational activities. Hiking on trails, overnight camping and educational programs await outdoor enthusiasts.
