Serious Injury Crash Investigation
SB Lapeer Rd. near Brown Rd.


On Friday, June 5, 2014 at 11:44 pm personnel from the Auburn Hills Police and Fire Departments responded to southbound Lapeer Rd., south of Brown Rd. for a report of an injury crash.

Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2007 black Chevy Trailblazer was traveling northbound Lapeer Rd. in the southbound lanes.  The Chevy Trailblazer attempted to turn into the BP Gas Station and was struck by a 2006 Grey Nissan Pathfinder.  The rear seat passenger in the Trailblazer, a 21 year old man from Davison, Michigan, suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to McClaren Oakland Hospital for treatment.  The driver of the Trailblazer, a 21 year old woman from Burton was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and is currently lodged at the Oakland County jail.  Charges are pending the outcome of the investigation.  The front seat passenger in the Trailblazer and the driver of the Pathfinder suffered minor injuries.  They were also transported to the hospital for treatment and later released.

Investigators from the Southeast Oakland County Crash Investigation Team (SOCCIT) comprised of crash investigators from Auburn Hills, Troy, Bloomfield Township, and Bloomfield Hills Police Departments are investigating the crash.
