A Message from the Chief of Police

Gagnon FBI Headshot

On behalf of the men and women of the Auburn Hills Police Department, I welcome you to our department’s website.  It is a true honor for me to have the opportunity to lead our department as the Chief of Police.  We have an outstanding group of people who make up our staff at the police department.  We pride ourselves in providing exceptional police services by going above and beyond the expectations.  We are committed to the safety and security of our residents, business community, and visitors.  We do this through partnerships in the community, proactive policing, community engagement, relentless pursuit of solving crimes, and crime prevention programs.

We have a unique opportunity to provide police services to the City of Auburn Hills.  The city offers a diverse range of opportunities for us to make a difference in the community.  Auburn Hills is home to nearly 25,000 residents, including a large business community, educational institutions, retail establishments, and entertainment venues.  We are proud to serve a diverse population of people, who live, work, and play in Auburn Hills.

We strongly believe in our mission to "continually improve the safety and quality of life within our community, through a broad base of traditional and innovative services while protecting constitutional and basic human rights."

We are proud to be recognized as an accredited law enforcement agency through the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC).  We are also proud to know that we are one of less than 50 agencies in the State of Michigan who have earned accreditation status.  There are over 400 law enforcement agencies in the state, and we truly value the accreditation process.  This ensures that our policies and procedures and the way we do business meets best practices and industry standards.  Not only do we say we are doing it right, but we must prove it to outside MLEAC assessors.

I hope you will take some time to navigate our website and learn more about us.  We pride ourselves in being transparent with our community and this website provides an opportunity to share information through media releases, monthly reports, annual reports, services we provide, as well as how to get in contact with us based on your needs.

Please feel free to reach out to me directly or any one of our staff if you ever need our assistance.  The patch on our uniform has the words “HONOR, INTEGRITY, & SERVICE” on it.  This is who we are and what we all believe in!
