TEEN VOLUNTEERS (Ages 13-18)

Get involved with your community. Learn skills that translate
directly to work experience and earn valuable community service hours while having fun with our team at special events and day camp! Contact the Community Center, or email Varsha Nama at vnama@auburnhills.org, to get your application to join the fun!

TEEN COUNCIL (Ages 13-18)
Learn leadership skills by designing and planning fun activities,
have access to special events and earn valuable community
service hours. Join the Remind group to get updates by texting
@2483709353 to 81010. Students must be in grades 8 through
12. Stop by the Community Center or check out our website
for an application. Meetings will coincide with the school year
with the first meeting in September.

BE FIT! (AGES 13-17)
You can stay fit and begin your life-long journey of leading
a healthy lifestyle using our Fitness Room and equipment.
Equipment includes treadmills, elliptical machines, multistation strength machine, hand-weights, balance & medicine
ball, stationary bike and more. Must be signed up by parent
or legal guardian.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY NOTES
Join us to spread happiness at a local elementary school! In
celebration of World Kindness Day, teens are welcome to
come and write kind notes for elementary schoolers that we
will put up on their lockers for them to come back from the
weekend to. Let’s spread some LOVE!

CERAMIC TILE PAINTING (Age 12 - 18)
Join us at the Auburn Hills Community Center for a night
of painting fun! Attendees will be able to paint a ceramic
tile that will be put into a mural in the Community Center
so they can leave their own small mark in the building!

HOLIDAY ORNAMENT DECORATING (Age 13 - 18)
Grab a friend and get into the holiday spirit by making and
decorating your own holiday ornament while enjoying all
of your favorite festive refreshments! You can keep the
ornament for yourself or give it to family or friends this

ATHLETICS

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES (GRADES 1-8)
Auburn Hills Parks & Recreation along with Avondale
Basketball are partnering to present an instructional
basketball league that focuses on fundamentals,
sportsmanship, teamwork, equal playing time, and fun.
Grades 1-4 practice on Mondays or Wednesdays with games
on Saturdays. Grades 5-8 practice on Saturdays 1 hour
before their game time. Volunteer coaches are needed.

CAMP  

FALL BREAK CAMP
Children in grades K-5 are welcome to spend their Fall
Break engaging in a variety of age-appropriate recreational
activities designed to create a lifetime of memories.
Activities will include crafts, sports, cooperative games,
gym games, library visits, nature and more! Bring a water
bottle and nut-free snack (non-refrigerated) each day.
This program runs during Thanksgiving break based on
Avondale School District.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION AND NATURE PROGRAMS

LITTLE HIKERS (Ages 0-6)
This program is designed for parents to take a guided walk
with their child, learn about the outdoors and learn ways to
introduce children to the natural world around them. Up to

NATURE STORY TIME (Ages 0-6)
Come spend an hour learning about nature! The hour will
include a story, craft, time outdoors and other age-appropriate
activities. Story Hour will be located at the Community Center

GRANDPARENTS DAY (Ages 3+ with adult)
Grandparents Day is coming up, and what better way
is there to spend it than with grandma and/or grandpa
at Hawk Woods Park and Campground? Grab your
grandma(pa) and enjoy a nice morning walk, share childhood
stories, and make a craft together.

CAMPFIRE 101
Gather around the campfire to learn about the different
ways to build a fire, cook your own rustic dinner around the
