Hazardous Waste

The Household Hazardous Waste Day is a one-day event where the City of Auburn Hills' residents can drop off any materials which are considered Hazardous to the environment and cannot be disposed of with regular weekly trash pickup.  The next Household Hazardous Waste Day event will occur on May 13, 2023, 9:00AM - 2:00PM at the Auburn Hills Department of Public Works (1500 Brown Road). This event is only available to residents of the City of Auburn Hills and proof of residency is required (driver's license or utility bill with Auburn Hills address).

Another option for disposing of hazardous waste (in addition to our HHW Day in Auburn Hills) is to participate in Oakalnd County's NoHaz collection events. Please note that the City of Auburn Hills is not a member community, therefore residents that participate will be charged $60 (cash or check) per collection event. Please visit www.nohaz.com for more information about event scheduling, locations, and accepted materials. There may also be nearby recycling companies where you can recycle your materials throughout the year.
