Request for Qualifications-Media Relations
City of Auburn Hills
The City of Auburn Hills is seeking a small, client focused firm to provide ongoing public and media relations services to assist in conveying the City’s key messages and proactively represent the city throughout the state, across the nation and beyond.
The City of Auburn Hills is a distinguished leader in southeast Michigan. Home to 21,000 residents, as well as a workday population of approximately 100,000, Auburn Hills continues to be a thriving global business address. It is home to over 70 international corporations and hosts the World and North American headquarters for numerous leading businesses such as Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, Continental Automotive Systems, Faurecia, Guardian Industries, and BorgWarner. Auburn Hills’ residents enjoy the amenities of city and suburban living with parks, a revitalized downtown district and a welcoming city complex with a library and community center. Additionally, the city has five colleges and universities, the award winning Palace of Auburn Hills sports and entertainment complex and Great Lakes Crossing Outlets, one of the state’s largest destination shopping centers. Together, this mix provides a variety of cultural, social and educational opportunities to residents, workers and visitors.
Candidates must have experience working with national and regional print, online media, and broadcast media outlets. Candidates should have local government or related experience and be in close proximity to Auburn Hills.

Cover Letter: Please indicate your interest in and qualifications to represent Auburn Hills.
Portfolio/Samples: Include some various media coverage achieved in the past twelve months.
Creative Ideas: Showcase your strength in pitching original ideas by including two story ideas specific to Auburn Hills.
Client List and References: Include a complete client list (past 36 months) with a minimum of five client references.
Agency History: Include length of time in business and any highlights you want to share.
The deadline for proposals is Tuesday, September 30, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
