PRESS RELEASE

 

        On Sunday, August 21st of 2005 at approximately 3:00 a.m. officers were dispatched to eastbound M-59 at Opdyke Road for a Drag Racing complaint. It was reported that several vehicles were stopped in the area and people were watching the drag racing.

 

While officers were en route to the location a vehicle that was eastbound on M-59 (not involved in the drag racing) struck one of the vehicles that had been drag racing, which was stopped in the roadway. The occupant of the vehicles drag racing, a 35 year old Pontiac man suffered serious injuries. The occupants of the other vehicle involved suffered no injuries from the accident.
