SERIOUS INJURY CRASH INVOLVES AMBULANCE
An ambulance owned by American Medical Response, AMR, and operated in conjunction with the Auburn Hills Fire Department, was involved in a crash while responding to a medical emergency. The crash occurred in the intersection of N. Squirrel Rd. and Walton Blvd. at 11:37am on today’s date.
The ambulance was traveling north on N. Squirrel Rd. when it was struck by a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was traveling west on Walton Blvd., driven by a 32 year old male from Redford. The driver of the Jeep was not injured. The three passengers in the Jeep were injured. One of the passengers suffered serious injures and the other two suffered minor injuries. The three passengers were all transported to an area hospital.
The ambulance was staffed with three personnel, one paramedic from AMR and two paramedic/firefighters from Auburn Hills. All three suffered minor injuries and they were all transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
The accident is being investigated by deputies from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.
