SUSPECT WANTED FOR QUESTIONING IN TWO HOME INVASIONS

Auburn Hills detectives are investigating two day time home invasions that occurred within a block of each other on Thursday, September 8, 2005.  Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a possible suspect who was seen in the area.  The suspect is described as a black male, mid to late 20’s in age, 5’9” tall and weighing 170 lbs.  The suspect is further described as being medium build and clean cut.  The suspect was driving a full size black pickup with a cap on the bed.  The truck has a 12” wide orange or red stripe along the sides.

The first home invasion occurred on Churchill, and the second occurred on Rosetta.  Several hundred dollars worth of property was taken during the two home invasions.  The suspect approached a third residence and knocked on the door.  When the resident answered the door the suspect asked for someone who does not live at the address.  The suspect claimed to have the wrong address and he left.  It is believe the suspect was checking the residence for occupants in preparation of a home invasion.  A witness also saw a black male fitting the suspect’s description knocking on the door of one of the residences that was broken into.

A computer generated composite drawing of the suspect is attached.  Anyone who may recognize the suspect or his vehicle should contact the Auburn Hills police at               248-370-9444.  Residents should also report any suspicious activity such as people knocking at the door and asking for an unknown person and then leaving the area.
