Obtaining Copies of Reports
All requests for reports are subject to the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). You may be required to fill out a FOIA form prior to receiving a copy of any police record. Copies of incident reports and traffic crash reports may be obtained at the Public Safety Building, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Reports are generally available 48 to 72 hours after the incident or crash occurred.
Special arrangements may be made to get a report sent to you via United States mail. To receive a report by mail, please send the required fees and a self-addressed envelope, including appropriate postage.
In order to obtain a copy of a report, either the requestor’s name must appear in the report or a notarized authorization must be presented. Contact the Records Bureau for further details. Certain information, which is governed by state and federal privacy laws, is always removed from the report, prior to copying. This may include, but is not limited to, phone numbers, witness information, suspect information (until a case is completely adjudicated), and medical data.
All fees must be paid prior to the release of any document. A deposit may be required for any request which exceeds $50.00.

Copies of traffic accident reports are available on the Internet. For a small fee, reports may be obtained by visiting https://payments.clemis.org/extservices.
