The ERB is an advisory board to the City Council. The Board recommends changes to the City's environmental policies and ordinances.
The Board also monitors test results at the Oakland Heights Landfill, which is located west of M-24, between Brown Road and Harmon Road.
Six of the seven members are appointed to staggered three-year terms by the Mayor and City Council. One member of the City Council is appointed by the Mayor and City Council to serve on the ERB as a liaison.

Regular meetings of the Environmental Review Board will be held quarterly on the fourth Thursday of January, April, July, and October at 6:30 p.m., at the City Council Chambers at 1827 N. Squirrel Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326 unless otherwise stipulated.
