Peter E. Auger, City Manager

The City Manager is the Chief Administrative Officer for the City and is responsible for the day-to-day operations.  The City Manager is appointed by and serves at the pleasure of the City Council.  His role is to formulate recommendations to the City Council which in turn, translate to good public policy that are adopted by the City Council and then carried out by City staff under the Manager's guidance and direction.  The City Manager attends all meetings of the City Council and reports directly to them on all matters.
 
Among other duties, the City Manager prepares and presents the annual budget, assists in planning strategies to achieve City Council goals, and coordinates day-to-day operations to ensure the proper integration of services among City Departments.  His ultimate goal is the delivery of quality, dependable, and cost-effective services that improve the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors alike.  Providing leadership and administrative support to City departments and working in conjunction with the City Council to achieve the City's mission are other key goals.
 
Mr. Auger has seventeen years of experience in local government management and possesses a Bachelor of Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration Degree.
 
In addition to the City Manager, the Office includes two Assistant City Managers and an Executive Assistant to the City Manager.
 
THOMAS A. TANGHE is the Assistant City Manager/Administration and Director of Human Resources and Labor Relations.  Tom oversees the following City Departments:  Assessing, Clerk, Treasurer, Finance, Information Technology, Human Resources and Labor Relations, and Fieldstone Golf Club.  He possesses an Associate of Applied Science Degree, a Bachelor of Arts Degree, and a Master of Public Administration.  Tom has eighteen years of local government management experience.
 
MARK K. WALTERHOUSE is the Assistant City Manager/Operations and Fire Chief.  Mark oversees the following City Departments:  Recreation, Seniors, Fire Department, Community Development, and the Department of Public Services.  He possesses an Associate of Applied Science Degree and began his role in the City Manager's Office in late 2007.
 
JEANETTA A. MILLER is the Executive Assistant to the City Manager.  Jeanetta provides daily support to the City Manager's Office as well as the Mayor.  She possesses a Bachelor of Science in Education.  Jeanetta has over 9 years of experience in local government.
 
STEPHANIE L. CARROLL is the Coordinator of Community Relations and Legislative Affairs.  Stephanie provides daily support to the City Manager's Office and to the Mayor, including special assignments, such as Liaison for the Intergovernmental Cable Communications Authority, community relations activities, and many other projects.  She possesses a Bachelor of General Studies and has fifteen years of experience in legislative and consitituent relations at the State level and in local government administrative support.
