Enjoy a variety of free live music downtown this summer at the Knight Amphitheater on Friday nights from 7  PM to 8:30 PM.

July 9    

Mainstreet Soul – Dance and Motown:  Nominated for Detroit Music Awards in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and in 220, Mainstreet Soul is a 10-piece band that consists of some of the finest musical talent that Metro Detroit has to offer.


July 16 

80’s Inc – Ultimate 80’s Band:  80’s Inc is guaranteed to bring you back to a time when over-indulgence ruled the world.  With 80’s costumes, hits of the decade and a tribute to the “big-hair” rockers, let your hair down with rock hits of the era.


July 23 

Persuasion – Party, Dance, and Show Band:  Dynamic 8-piece band providing top notch, live musical entertainment, fronted by extraordinary lead vocals with a rockin’ rhythm section.  The band is a fast paced, high-energy performance.


July 30 

Captured Detroit – Journey Rock and Roll Tribute Band:  Recreates and Recaptures Journey’s greatest hits that have withstood the test of time after all these years.  Captured Detroit features five top metro-Detroit area professional musicians who perform all parts live, paying careful attention to recreate the songs, sounds, energy, and rich harmonies that made Journey known as one of the best rock and roll bands of all time. 


August 6 

Family Tradition – Country Rock Band:  High energy live show that consists of a full ensemble of country elements, including fiddle, banjo, and slide guitar.  They have that new aged guitar driven country sound with classic roots, mixed with true e part harmonies and a rock solid rhythm section.  They have recently opened for Scotty McCreary, Joe Nichols, The Oak Ridge Boys, Love and Theft, Colt Ford, and more. 


August 13

Killer Flamingos – American Pop Rock Band:  Produce an infection blend of pop, rock, and electronica – a sound that is turning heads and capturing listeners everywhere.  The band has opened for artists such as Tom Jones, Sloan, and OK GO.  They have been awarded “best band” honors by Hour Detroit magazine, Ambassador, WDIV’s Click On Detroit, and Ann Arbor’s Current magazine.


August 20

KGB – Motown:  Straight-up Motown with an electronic base and a healthy sampling of other pop songs.  Their dance moves are energetic, and their coordinated matching suits are reminiscent of the originals.  The show-stopping Temps-n-Tops medley knocks ‘em out every time.


August 27

Boogie Dynomite – 70’s Disco Band:  With thunderous boogie in their bellbottoms, the Boogie Dynomite arrive in all the splendor the 70’s Disco Era has to offer.  Large afros, funky dance moves, and a sound that is truly electrifying, these guys are super bad!
